Still Enjoy Our iPad (version 1)

We have this iPad version 1 for one year and still enjoy using it everyday.

We got some apps only for iPad in last year. These apps include 3 in iWork, GarageBand, Magic Piano and so on. It is really fun to use iPad.

We are using folders to organize and group applications. And we tried different ways to put apps in several screens: order by frequent of usage OR grouped by type of apps(such as put games in one screen).

iPad 2 is great!

I was there in the local Apple store to check out the iPad 2 on the first day. iPad 2 is great! I tried things with iPad 2 especially iMovie. Then, I brought my wife and tried iPad 2 on the weekend. She likes it. We are going to use/enjoy our iPad(version 1) for a while.

So glad to see Steve Jobs presented iPad 2, today.

iPad 2 got faster processor and graphics, light weight and thinner than iPad 1.
iPad 2 also got 2 cameras although they are not in high resolution

Very glad to see Smart Cover, New Digital AV Adapter, and Video mirroring.

With Video mirroring, we can see what we have in iPad screen on TV or monitor with Digital AV Adapter or VGA Adaptor.

iPad 2 Coming?

Apple on Wednesday sent an invitation to media inviting them to a special event on March 2 in San Francisco, Calif.

Why March 2? iPad 2nd and March 2nd both got 2nd. From this picture, we can see what is on the back: an iPad.

Apple iPhone 4 for Verizon is Here

Finally, iPhone 4 for Verizon can be ordered by everyone along with iPhone 4 for AT&T. During pre-order on Feb 3rd, the demand was very high so the pre-order had to be closed in less than 24 hours. Now, Apple Online Store and Verizon website are taking orders. iPhone 4 for Verizon will be available in WalMart starting tomorrow.

People already got their pre-ordered iPhone 4 for Verizon starting last weekend. They are saying "Verizon iPhone 4 has antenna ‘death grip’ problems, too".

Getting Verizon iPhone Now?

Today, finally there is news about Verizon iPhone data plan. It will be only $30 unlimited data plan for iPhone 4 Verizon users. No one knows if there is a cap for this plan although it is an unlimited data plan. From Verizon Wireless web site, we know $15 with 150MB data plan is temporary promotion. So, it is becoming clear in order to get Verizon iPhone, $30 is the only data plan.

There are rumors these days about Apple iPhone 5(dual mode can be used in Verizon and AT&T) coming this summer. Considering Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 cannot be used with call and web at same time, this is one disadvantage to get Verizon iPhone comparing AT&T iPhone 4.

While Verizon's network is more reliable, AT&T's 3G network is faster. Should we get Verizon iPhone 4 now or wait for half year to get iPhone 5, or even longer to get an iPhone for 4G network? The networks are built on different wireless standards. AT&T uses GSM and Verizon uses CDMA. AT&T's GSM network allows for simultaneous voice and data. That means we can't access the Web on your Verizon iPhone while making a phone call without the aid of WiFi.

Apple iPhone 4 for Verizon

This morning, Apple and Verizon announced the Verizon-compatible iPhone.

The iPhone 4 for Verizon will begin preorders on February 3rd with availability starting on February 10th. The 16GB model will cost $199.99 and the 32GB model $299.99 with two year contract.

A surprise, Verizon is allowing the iPhone 4 to be a mobile Mi-Fi device that can share its 3G connection to up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices. This means you can use laptop or iPad to connect to Internet through Verizon iPhone 4. However, as a CDMA device, you won't be able to use your 3G Internet connection and Voice at the same time.
